Carbon Fibre Fitment Guide for the Nami Klima: Every Accessory, Every Mount Point

Why Fitment Matters More Than You Think

The Nami Klima is a precision-engineered machine, and every mount point on its deck, stem, and handlebar assembly carries specific tolerances that aftermarket accessories must respect. Get fitment wrong and you introduce vibration, stress concentration, and premature failure into a platform built to perform at its limits.

Understanding the Klima's Structural Geometry

The Nami Klima uses a dual-suspension architecture with a reinforced aluminium alloy stem and a wide 220 mm deck platform. These dimensions define exactly what will and will not sit flush against the scooter's surfaces.

The stem cross-section measures approximately 35 mm in diameter at the upper clamp zone. Any accessory designed for a 31.8 mm or 25.4 mm stem profile will introduce unwanted play, which transfers directly into vibration at speed.

The deck surface is largely flat across its central spine but features raised anti-slip inserts toward the rear. Accessories that mount flush to the deck must account for this topology or they will rock under load.

Key Mount Points and Their Specifications

There are four primary zones where riders typically attach carbon fibre accessories to the Nami Klima. Each zone has distinct requirements.

  • Upper stem clamp zone: 35 mm diameter, accepts two-piece clamp brackets; torque limit approximately 4 Nm on aluminium-to-carbon interfaces to avoid crushing fibre layers.

  • Handlebar crossbar: 22.2 mm standard diameter; compatible with most universal bar-mount accessories but verify clamp jaw depth before tightening.

  • Deck surface: Adhesive-mount accessories require surface prep; the factory anti-slip coating must be lightly abraded with 400-grit before applying structural adhesive to achieve a clean bond.

  • Front fork brace zone: The Klima's hydraulic fork legs sit approximately 100 mm apart at the lower brace; any fender or fork-mounted accessory must clear the suspension travel arc across its full 65 mm stroke.

Always dry-fit every component before final installation. A part that looks correct in a product listing may still require a 1 mm to 2 mm shim at the clamp interface to eliminate micro-movement.

Carbon Fibre Material Considerations for Each Zone

Not every carbon fibre layup is appropriate for every mount point. This is where material specification becomes critical, not just aesthetics.

High-vibration zones like the stem clamp benefit from parts made with T700 6K carbon fibre in a cross-ply orientation. The 6K tow count provides higher interlaminar shear strength, which resists the cyclic loading that stem clamps experience on rough urban surfaces.

Cosmetic panels on the deck or mudguard areas are well-served by 3K plain weave carbon fibre. The tighter weave produces a flatter surface finish and conforms more cleanly to compound curves without print-through from the underlying structure.

Resin system matters too. Epoxy-based laminates outperform vinyl ester in fatigue resistance, which is relevant for any part that sees continuous vibration from the Klima's dual-motor drivetrain.

Installation Best Practices for a Clean, Lasting Fit

Preparation is the step most riders skip. Clean every contact surface with isopropyl alcohol before fitting any bracket or adhesive-backed panel.

  • Use a calibrated torque wrench on all clamp fasteners; guessing by feel risks both under-torquing (movement) and over-torquing (fibre crush).

  • Apply a thin layer of carbon-safe anti-seize compound on metal-to-carbon contact points to prevent galvanic corrosion over time.

  • Re-check all fastener torque after the first 50 km of riding; thermal cycling and vibration will cause initial settling in any new installation.

  • Inspect bonded panels every 500 km for edge lifting, which indicates adhesive fatigue before a full delamination occurs.

Document your installation with photos at each stage. If a fitment issue develops later, those reference images will help you identify exactly where the interface failed.

Build Your Nami Klima the Right Way

Fitment precision is what separates a carbon upgrade that performs from one that simply looks the part. Every measurement, every material choice, and every torque value contributes to a build that holds together at the speeds the Nami Klima is capable of delivering.
